a scraptastic birthday

Wednesday, September 22

months before we were even thinking about how to celebrate, carter overheard that they hold birthday parties at archiver's. assuming that they were for older children, i dismissed the idea, but she did not. in fact, her only request was that her sixth birthday party be at archiver's.

so, i called and they rent out the space for a very minimal fee and provide all the necessary equipment and a teacher. um, yes please. see, i tend to go a little overboard on the birthday thing. because i wanted it all to coordinate and be cute enough for my pink-loving 6 year old, i also provided paper, ribbon, buttons and glue sticks.

then, that morning, carter requested a hat  . . . because her sister had one. um, okay, i can squeeze that in.

i used the same adorable paper i used to make the invites to create pinwheels and cupcake toppers and embellish her hat.

after some brief instruction from our teacher, the girls got started creating. they punched and cut and glued . . .

and she was so content to be surrounded by paper and pretties and friends. so, while the girls worked on their pages . . .

we had a little photobooth.

and, she smiled the entire time. once everyone had some fun, we printed them onsite and the girls added them to their page.

and they turned out so cute!

then, it was time to sing . . .
and enjoy some yummy cupcakes. after opening gifts and thanking our guests, i swooped up the table cloths and threw them in the trash. we packed up the car and headed home. it was the easiest party i ever hosted or planned. so easy i might just have the next one at archiver's ;)
