june has been crazy and things don't appear to be slowing down. we have been home from the beach almost a week and josh finally finished the pictures, so those should be posted soon. but i have to share these little things before you get bombarded with tons of cute pictures.

the friday before we left to go to the beach, carter said some funny things. that morning while getting dressed, we were talking about going to the beach and she said, "the beach is in florida."
we then discussed how meme and papaw were in arkansas, grammie and papa joe were in georgia, and chris and margaret in mississippi. and then i said and we live in tennessee. her eyes got really big and she replied, "under the sea."

later that morning on the way to walmart, she was asking me where everyone was. where's miss baby avery? miss jennifer? mr david? daddy? meme? papaw? and on and on and on until "where's mr jesus?"

then, at walmart as we drive around making last minute purchases for our trip, we drive through the dairy department and she says, "mommy, i have never seen yogurt at walmart in all my life." in all your life, huh?

like they say, kids say the darnedest things.

it's official! the series finale of gilmore girls will air on tuesday, may 15th. only two more weeks to see if they keep their "promise to give this series the send off it deserves."

you all know how much this show means to us, so before i give a final tribute to the reigning loreleis, tell us how you think it should end.

when you're out on the road, feeling lonely and so cold . . .

winnie the who

so, a few weeks ago, carter was watching the disney channel and saw a commercial for a new show coming soon. she asked me the name of each character, most of who i knew from the original. then later that day, carter asked to color and choose a coloring book from the collection her meme and papaw recently brought her. when we looked through the books, carter pointed and said "that one, winnie the pooh-pooh."

so, this leads me to the following: why can disney not come up with an original idea? instead, they rewrite the successes they had in the past, yet they are not successes. one example, cinderella becomes cinderella 2 and, my favorite, cinderella: 3 a twist in time. "what if the slipper didn't fit?" that is their slogan-seriously?? isn't that the entire point of the original?and now, they are rewriting winnie the pooh. where is christopher robin? why do they have to include a skateboard? not everything your child watches has to be current. they can learn from the original in it's simplicity. now, they are going to become detectives or something each episode and try to solve a mystery. why? why does disney do this? just let things be. hire somebody with an original idea because otherwise it is just that-winnie the pooh-pooh!

in the weeds

that's where we've been the past few weeks-in the weeds. we've had miller's first birthday party, small group and bunko all at our house in april. i've had parent conferences and evaluations at school. we had a family picnic for carter and 12 month check up for miller. josh had an engagement picture sitting. then, this weekend we thought we would just hang out, work in the yard, etc. then, miller started throwing up friday night, carter saturday night, josh sunday morning and me sunday night. rotavirus swept through our house with a vengence. we are slowly returning to the living. so, hopefully we will return to the way we planned-josh posting pictures and me posting funny little everyday incidences.

Although the bunny was a little spooky looking this year, the kids actually enjoyed it...no screaming or crying!
